Golgi Apparatus
THe golgi apparatus is a complex of vesicles and folded membranes within the cytoplasm of most eukaryotic cells. It is also involved in the secretion, and the intracellular transport. Golgi looks like a stack of dinner plates. The main function is that it modifies and packages the secretions such as hormones or enzymes. It also renews and modifies the cell membrane. Golgi is important because it processes and packages protein and lipid. Without the golgi apparatus you would use your DNA, because DNA is composed of protein. Also, without lipids, your cells would have mis- formed shapes because the cell membrane is composed of a bi lipid layer, and lipid can be burned into energy.
